Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Colour Balm Review

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Colour Balm, Swatches & LOTD

Clinique is a high end makeup and skincare brand who claim that all of their products are allergy tested and fragrance free. This chubby stick is the very first product that I tried from this brand. Now when it comes to lip balms I hardly use any except for the Vaseline petroleum jelly because most of them just don’t seem to work well on my lips. After listening to a few good reviews, I decided to try it. Read on to know more about how The Clinique Chubby Stick fared for me!

Product Claims: Super-nourishing balm is loaded with mango and shea butters. Just what dry, delicate lips need to feel comfortably soft and smooth. Natural-looking lip tints have a subtle sheen.

Price: INR 1500 for 3gm

Package Description: It comes in a pale yellow box and the chubby stick is retractable as well as colour coded. I personally really find the packing appealing.

Product Details: The texture of this product is very creamy and it glides on smoothly on the lips. Although this is a lip balm, it does have really good pigmentation and looks almost opaque on the lips. Also, this lip balm consists of essential butters which are supposed to moisturize your lips.

My experience with the product: As mentioned above, I’m really sceptical about using lip balms on my lips as they contain a lot of flavouring which makes my lips even drier! However, I’d a heard a lot of positive views about the Clinique chubby stick and when I came to know that they do not contain any flavourings and are allergy tested, I was eager to try them. They have a lot of colours in their ‘chubby stick’ range and two variants one was the ‘intense’ and the normal one. The basic difference is that the ‘intense’ range has more pigmented colours whereas the normal ones have a sheer payoff.

The packaging is very pretty and colour coded which is really easy to identify and pick shades if you own multiple of these. The formula is very comfortable on the lips. It doesn’t settle in the fine lines and I love the pigmentation, it’s almost like a lip crayon. Although it’s a lip balm it has a very clean creamy finish. It lasts for about 3 to 4 hours and doesn’t survive a heavy meal which is quite okay for a lip balm in my opinion. When it fades away it leaves a beautiful even stain on the lips which I like. The only thing I dislike about this balm is the pricing. Although I quite like it for the fact that it didn’t dry my lips, it’s just very expensive and I wouldn’t invest so much in a product like this.

Plushest Punch is a bright berry pink shade. It would be a saviour on days you’re running late and all you have to do is use this!  I really find such toned down berry pinks great for everyday wear as well as they don’t make you look overly done. Also, it would suit a variety of Indian skin tones.

Overall Verdict: Overall, it’s a great pick if you can invest in a good quality lip balm however, if you are more of a lipstick junkie like me and on a budget, I’d recommend going for more of budget picks rather than this one.
