Colorbar BB Cream Review & Swatches
Colorbar is a US brand of cosmetics which have their stores and counters all over India since a long time. I haven’t tried a lot of products from this brand but their range of nail paints and their BB cream is something worth splurging upon. Today, I’ll be reviewing their BB cream which has been my staple since quite some time. Before moving onto the review, I’d like to clarify what a BB cream means. So BB cream means ‘Beauty Balm’ cream and this BB cream apart from coverage and concealing is supposed to provide the skin with additional benefits like skin lightening and so on. The trend of BB creams started in around 2011 and since then brands have been launching newer and better versions of BB creams. Following is the review of the Colorbar BB cream.
Price: INR 550 for 9g
Package Description: The Colorbar BB cream comes in a sleek peach coloured tube with a silver cap and the outer box is a shiny silver package with all the required details on it. I love the packaging, it is sleek, sturdy and travel friendly. The tube has a small opening which is a good thing because you can take out the product as per your requirement without wasting too much of the product.
Product Details: This BB cream has a very smooth texture but a thick consistency. It has a nice fresh floral fragrance which lingers on for sometime after application.
My experience with the product: Before I delve into how this product worked for me I’d like to describe my skin type. I have oily, sensitive and pimple prone skin which is why BB creams usually don’t work quite well for me as they tend to clog pores. However, this product has been a star for me since the day I got it. They have three shades of BB cream called white light, vanilla crème and honey glaze. I use the ‘vanilla crème’ shade which matches perfectly with my skin. It has a very sheer coverage but is buildable, so you can build up more product in areas where you think you require more coverage.
This product has a non oily formula and after application it covers and mattifies your face which is really good if you have oily skin like me. However, being thick in consistency blending on the skin can be a bit of an issue. I wouldn’t recommend this for people with dry skin, the reason being this can emphasize dry patches. On days when I don’t have super oily skin I can do for about 4 hours just with the BB cream after which my skin starts getting shiny. However, if my skin feels super oily apply some compact powder over the BB cream to prevent the oiliness on my skin. The best part of this product is it didn’t break me out or clog my pores and worked perfectly on my skin.
