Essence the Gel Nail Polish Review, Swatches & NOTD

Shade – 13 Forgive me

If you have checked my Dubai shopping Haul, you know I got picked up an Essence nail polish and 2 Wet n Wild nail polishes. Today I will be reviewing and swatching – Essence the Gel nail polish in the shade ’13 Forgive Me’.

I am getting more to know about the brand essence and I am really liking their products. Recently, I even reviewed the Essence smokey eye brush. I was planning to pick more than one nail polish from this range; I have a bit dark hands (they are really dark in comparison to my face and body), I guess too much of driving takes a toll on them plus my generic dark knuckles add to it. They had majorly dark shades and just 2 light shades, one being nude and the other was the light pink. As I did not want to pick the nude one so I just settled on this one. I already have a lot of pink shades like from the Loreal Color Riche range but subtle pinks are shades that I am the most comfortable with and hence I do not mind picking close looking shades from the array of pink shades available in the market.

Product Claims: Shiny, shiny! This NEW gel nail polish provides incredible gel shine, in rich and beautiful colors, and no lamp required! New color crush technology ensures high intensity color impact and coverage. Combine with the gel nail polish base coat and top coat for superior long lasting wear. No DBP, toluene, or formaldehyde. Available in 16 shiny shades.

Price: 10 Dirhams app Rs 180

My Take on the Product: The packaging is simple and cute. The shade is numbered as well as named which is printed on the bottle side next to the bar code. The nail polish has a nice gel like finish which lasts really long. The brush is flat than most of the other regular nail polishes but that helps in quick and easy coverage of the nails. The shade ‘Forgive Me’ is a lovely baby pink shade, I thought like most other light shades, this will have an uneven finish but it really spreads evenly. 2 coats are sufficient for the shade to go opaque. The nail polish takes average time like any other nail polish to dry up. The finish is brilliant and shiny and lasts really long with minimal fading near the tips after 5 to 7 days. The shine too reduces gradually but I guess 4-5 days is decent time for an economically priced nail polish.

Here are the swatches and the NOTD of this beautiful light pink shade.

Overall Verdict: I really like the Essence Gel nail polish and I am really happy with the quality of the nail polish. The price is quite reasonable for the quality and if there were more lighter shades, I wouldn’t have a problem in picking up a few more.
