New Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal Review, Price & Swatches
I have been using my Lotus Herbals Colorkick Kajal for quite a while now so when I came to know that Maybelline had revamped the old Colossal kajal, I was more than excited to try and move back to one of my favourite brands. So here I am with the review of the new Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal which I have been using for over past 2 months now.
Price: Rs 300 for 0.35 g
Package Description: The new Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal packaging completely opposite to its old one. The old colossal kajal was a yellow retractable pencil with black print on it whereas the in new Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal the colour scheme is reversed. Though the new packaging looks more classy but it was easy to locate the old bright yellow pencil amongst the heap of liners or from a lot of stuff that’s usually in our makeup bags.
Product Details: The old Maybelline Colossal Kajal had a good colour pay off and was quite pigmented too so when Maybelline launched this new Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal, I was not sure if actually the formula was that different and improved. When I swiped the new Maybelline Colossal Super Black Kajal for the first time I was really blown away by its pigmentation. The kajal is jet black in colour and glides on smoothly without any kind of tugging or roughness. The texture is really soft and creamy but the tip still does not break off. Even the old Colossal kajal was well pigmented but I can definitely say the new one is still a bolder black and the application is much smoother. Infact its the deepest black kajals that I own.
Moving on to the staying power and the smudge proof claim. It glides on my waterline like a dream and stays on for around 4-5 hours after which is starts fading but it stays really well on the lashline, almost for the whole day. It does smudge a bit but that too after a long time and nothing out of control. Due to its retractable pencil form, it’s quite easy to apply on your upper lash line as well! I really love how inspite of rubbing my eyes at times, it did not smudge crazily and turn them to panda eyes. Infact even when I wash my face, the kajal is intact so before going to sleep I have to use either a makeup remover or any oil to get rid of it completely. I am really loving this improved formula though I wish that a price hike should have been somewhere between Rs 200 – 250.
