Revlon Shadowlinks Review, Swatches & EOTD – Eggplant

Revlon Shadowlinks Review, Swatches & EOTD – Eggplant

This little cutie has been lying in my makeup drawer for quite a while now and I thought it’s high time to review it. There was quite a buzz when these eye shadows were launched. The packing seemed quite unique and interesting. I really wanted to buy 2-3 shades from this range to convert it into a travel friendly eye shadow palette but finally just picked up one shade ‘Eggplant’. To know more why did I pick just one shade, continue reading….

Product Claims: Customize Your Palette Mix. Match. Click.

Individual, interchangeable eye shadows click together to create your own customized palette of possibilities. In 4 fabulous finishes and 20 covetable, collectible shades.

Price: Rs 175 for

Package Description: The packing is quite interesting if you combine 2 or more eye shadows. The slider on the one side of the case connects with the gap of the other case, this way you can choose your own shades and create an eye shadow palette out of it. Considering just one shade the packing is quite ordinary and the eye shadow comes in a small rectangular case with click lock lid.

Product Details: When I was trying the shades at the counter, I found most of the shades lacked pigmentation and a few of them were chalky too. The quality was quite a bummer for most of the shades and the shade ‘Eggplant’ was the only one shade I thought fared well amongst all.

The shade ‘Eggplant’ is a lovely dark purple shade with subtle shimmer in it. The eye shadow is a bit dry but can be worked with. There is slight fallout during application too so it will be better if you apply some loose powder on your under eye area before you start working with the eyeshadow. The pigmentation of this shade is average but if used wet or over a primer, the pigmentation is much better. The dark shades from the Revlon Shadowlinks can atleast be seen but the light shades are very sheer and most of them are chalky. The staying power is around 5-6 hours after which the eye shadow starts fading.

Rating: 5.5/10 (Rating based only for the shade – Eggplant)

Overall Verdict: The shade is lovely and the concept of a mix n’ match shadows that can interlock is a unique and innovative. However if the formula was a tad bit better, it would really make a good pick for people looking for affordable eye shadows.
