Star’s Concealer in Orange shade – Review & Swatches

Hi friends,

I have been on a hunt for a good undereye concealer with orange undertone for quite some time now. Last time I mentioned that I was not very impressed with the Lakme Absolute concealer stick due to its dry texture and short staying power (you can check the complete review here) so I kept searching for a good undereye concealer. I landed on Star’s concealer on the Jabong website. You can find this product in my Jabong haul here along with my Accessorize palette. I was completely new to this brand and due to its nominal price tag, I decided to give it a try. To check how the product and the brand fared, continue reading…

Package Description: The concealer comes in a simple black case with a transparent lid. The worst part is the transparent lid is does not have a lock or any kind of grip to keep the concealer secure. It’s just a plain lid which lands on the case, so the case is not at all travel friendly. The box in which the concealer was packed was also very flimsy.

Product Details: I had hesitation about this brand from the beginning but my quest for an affordable orange concealer tempted me to buy it. While buying this concealer online I knew I would have to use another concealer with it as I was just planning to use this orange concealer to cover the greyness under the eyes. When I received the product I was disappointed as the concealer was too bright to my imagination, it did not seem such bright orange in the pictures. Anyways it was time to test it out. The concealer failed miserably in it. The shade was too orange inspite of blending. The concealer has a thick greasy consistency and it’s a nightmare blending it out. Towards the end my under eyes had given up on the blending capacity as the sticky concealer was tugging my delicate undereye skin. I tried blending with a brush as well as with my fingers but it was still the same. To tone down the orange I even swiped some cotton over it. After so much of pain, my undereyes looked darker than usual. I tried using the Lakme CC cream to make it lighter and to make my undereye look brighter but still no avail. You can check the swatches below to get more clear idea about the product.

Overall Verdict: This is my first product which has failed so miserably. This Star’s concealer is a complete dud for me and I doubt if I will test out any other products from this brand. And now my hunt for a good concealer continues…

XOXOXO
